Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette, who is a native of Canada born June 1, 1974, in Ottawa. Alanis is the feminine name of Alan his father's last name. She has two siblings: Chad (Alanis Twin) as well as Wade. She began playing the piano and guitar at the age of aged 21. Alanis recorded a single back in 1986 entitled Fate Stay With Me (b-side : Find The Right Man). As a Canadian dance-pop artist, she recorded two albums: Alanis (1991), and The Time Is The Time (1992). When she was 18, she moved to Toronto and worked with several singers and musicians, but the collaborations didn't work. She finally met her partner in 1994: Glen Ballard. He had been working with a variety of artists, such as Aretha, Michael Jackson, and Barbra. She then moved to LA in the age of 19. on June 13, 1995 "Jagged Little Pill" was released via Madonna's Maverick Records. Alanis was able to come up with the idea of creating songs that were very personal and autobiographical. JLP has sold about 30 million copies throughout the world. This album has been the top selling female album and 3rd most popular album ever. JLP's release came after an emotional crisis (she was contemplating not releasing an album), and taking an excursion abroad.
